I am committed to playing an active role in supporting the vision and improvement of education and well-being of Springfield Academy pupils. I am passionate about education and the transformative role it can play in the lives of individuals, families and communities.

I worked in Education for over 40 years.  I was a primary headteacher and Head of Early Years for Darlington Borough Council. I have first-hand experience of the importance of providing all children with high-quality teaching and learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.  I have a range of professional skills and experience that apply to my role as a Governor. I achieved the National Governance Association – Leading Governance Development for Chairs Programme in 2021.

I understand the value that individuals and groups from a range of backgrounds can bring to a school. It is a privilege to work as part of an enthusiastic team to provide the best possible conditions for Springfield children to thrive.
